City sunday morning

I love to walk round the city on Sunday mornings. They have something special. The city is quite silence and few people wander round. It is like having all the city for you.
Igande goizeetan hiritik galtzea gustoko diat. Zeozer berezia du. Hiria erdi ixilik dago eta jende gutxi topa dezakezu bidean.

But this sunday has been special. I went to Estibaliz. It is a romanic church just 15 km far from Vitoria. Two friends of mine got married there, but the most beautiful image of it is that I used to come here to draw. Sitting in a camping chair, with classmates trying to discover all the secrets of the arches.
Igandea berezia izan da. Estibalizea joan ginen. Txikitan honera etorten ginen marraztera, kanping aulki batean, portadaren arkuek duten misterioa deskubritu nahiean.
El domingo fue diferente. Fuimos a Estibaliz.

Love the details of each arch. The little representations in the columns. They are part of my childhood. So I always try to look at it with those eyes. I think my mum keeps the drawings at home.
Maite ditut arko bakoitzeko detaileak. Kolumnetako errepresentazioak. Nire haurtzaroko parte dira. Eta beti begi haregaz begiratzea gustetan jat. Amak marrazkiak gordetzen dituela uste dut.

  1. Those rich arch hide many secrets, I'm sure. Including your childhood memories. We took the boys on a "sketching trip" to Venice once, about five years ago, and they still remember it through their sketching eyes.
