Corner View: Celebrating

As I talked some months ago alwas is something to celebrate.

And this year was my 40th birthday so I decided that would be special and that will celebrate all year.

But summer is being long and strange, and I feel with no energy to write or even take photos. Grandmother at hospital with a broken hip that no one wants to surgery, grandmother in a residence, family tensions, mother a bit depressed. New bosses, same work with different name, same and more problems, and having to work more hours in august as everyone is on holidays.

And I have been thinking about lettin all down and gointo into silence
But the corner view thema reminded me that there are little things for which is worth celebrating life.
Those little details that one day make you smile and forget the rest.

While my mother was at hospital, it was my parents 43 weeding aniversary. Years ago my father used to send a dozen of red roses to my mother. This year I thought it was a good moment to send them again. The roses. are still at my mother´s, dried and reminding me how special that little thing was for her.
In few weeks I will go with university friends to celebrate our 40ths at Pamplona. It is the second friend weekend I have to celebrate ours new number.

I am trying to celebrate each day, but it is not being easy.
Writting about it, reminds me that really there are things to celebrate, and that those black spots are little ones in a blue sky. Riminds me how much I love to write and how much I have to try to follow my dream of writting more seriously.
What are you celebrating?

Hilabete batzuk dala, beti zeozer ospatzeko dagoelari buruz hitzegin nizuen.

Aurten 40 urte bete ditut eta urtea berezia behar zuela izan esan nion neure buruari.

Baina uda arraroa eta luzea iruditzen ari zait. Idazteko edo argazkiak ateratzeko indarrik gabe aurkitzen naiz. Amama hopitalean izan dugu, inork operatu nahi ez duen aldaka autzita. Gero erresidentzian, familia arazoak, ama gero eta nekatu eta tristeago. Bestalde empresak izena aldat eta nagusiak aldatu ditu, lehengoak haundiagotuz. Abuztuak lan ordu gehiago izan ditu eta tonto aurpegiarekin heltzen nintzen etxera egunero.

Eta dena ustearekin pentsatu dut, ixildu eta urrundu. Baina gaurko gaiak bestelakoa erakutzi dit.

Baina gaurko gaiak txiki horiek ez ahaztea gogorarazi dit.

Amama hospitalean zegoela, gurasoen 43. ezkontzurrena izan zen. Azpaldian aitak dozena larrosa gorri opari ohi zizkion. Aurten nik bidali dizkiot larrosak amari. Han jarraitzen dute oraindik, etxean, lehor, detaile txikiak amak izan zuen irribarrearen irudi.

Aste batzutan Iruñara joango naiz unibertsitateko lagunekin. 40ak ospatzera. Nola hainbeste urte ostean horrelakoak egiten jarraitzen dugun.

Egunero zeozer ospatzen saiatzen naiz, baina ez da erreza izaten ari. Idazteak aldiz, gauza txiki horien garrantzia ekarten dit burura, eta puntu beltzak, zeru urdinean galarazten. Zenbat lasaitzen eta gustatzen zaidan idaztea gogorarazten dit, eta zenbat saitu behar dudan idazteari behar duen garrantzia emateko.

Zer zaudete aurten ospatzen?

  6. sorry to read this, and a prolonged feeling of summer would not help. but you have a good attitude to look for the little things to celebrate. And that counts for something. Make this year of turning 40 special - they don't all have to be over the top, feeling giddy type of celebrations, but rather the inside your heart and soul kind of bubbly feeling. sending you hugs.

  9. ah! life as it happens, you mean? hee hee. well, exactly, it is how you say it : every day there's pin pricks of happiness, we only just have to see and sense these. it is such a strong intention to celebrate a whole year of turning a magical number, yes, please do, because they are already becoming the most tender memories, and let's face it, memories are a huge chunk of who we are... n♥
